The Bid Room is operated by The Reneal Effect, a South African business. Our details, as the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act asks:

The Bid Room helps your business find public tenders and requests for quotation, price a bill of quantities from real supplier and retailer prices, and produce a quote. It also lists approved suppliers, so bidders can ask them for prices.

• –Tender notices come from National Treasury’s eTenders portal. Always check the official notice and documents before you bid: closing dates and requirements can change.
• –Prices come only from supplier price lists, suppliers’ answers to your requests, your own prices, and retailer web pages we can show you as proof. The Bid Room never makes up a cost.
• –Where the assistant reads a tender document, each line is checked against the document’s own text. You remain responsible for checking every line, price and total before you submit a bid.
• –A recommended bid price is guidance from published awards, not a promise that you will win.

• –Give accurate details for yourself and your business, and keep them up to date.
• –Keep your password private. You are responsible for what is done with your account, and for the people you invite.
• –Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
• –You must be at least 18 years old and allowed to act for the business.

• –A new business gets a free 14-day trial with the Pro features. No card is needed. When it ends, your account stays readable but you cannot create or change quotes until you choose a plan.
• –Plans are paid monthly in advance, in rand: Starter R299, Pro R799, Advanced R1 999. The price and what each plan includes are on our pricing page when you buy.
• –You pay through Paystack or against our invoice. A plan starts when your payment is received.
• –We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice by email. A new price applies from your next month after the notice.
• –Features marked “coming soon” are not part of a plan until we release them.

• –You may cancel at any time. Your plan runs to the end of the month you have paid for, and is not renewed.
• –If you cancel within 7 days of your first payment for a plan, we refund that payment in full.
• –You can ask us for a copy of your quotes and price lists before you leave.

Suppliers are listed only after we review their CSD registration report and the identity document of the person applying. We check that the documents match the application; we do not guarantee a supplier’s goods, services, prices or delivery. Any order or agreement is between you and the supplier.

You agree not to:

• –give false information, or pose as another person or business;
• –upload documents or personal information you have no right to share;
• –copy, scrape or resell The Bid Room, its prices or its data, or use it to build a competing service;
• –try to get around the plan limits, test the security, or disrupt the service.

We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why.

Your quotes, price lists and documents remain yours. You allow us to store and process them to run the service for you. The Bid Room, its software and its design belong to The Reneal Effect. We may use statistics that identify no business or person to improve the service.

• –We work to keep The Bid Room available and correct, but we cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or free of errors, or that tender information from third parties is complete.
• –We are not responsible for a bid you lose, a tender you miss, or a price you quote. Decisions about your bids are yours.
• –As far as the law allows, our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the three months before the claim.
• –Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other law that cannot be excluded.

Compliance, financial management, tax and document services you request through The Bid Room are quoted and agreed separately with The Reneal Effect. Those terms apply to them.

We may update these terms. If a change affects you materially, we will tell you at least 30 days before it applies. South African law governs these terms. Please contact us first with any complaint; we will try to resolve it within 10 working days.
